Formula Student (FS) is Europe’s most established educational motor-sport competition, run by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE). Backed by industry and high profile engineers such as our Patron Ross Brawn OBE, the competition aims to inspire and develop enterprising and innovative young engineers. In this competition, teams are required to design and manufacture an open-wheeled and open-cockpit (a formula style body) car.

Undergraduates from all over the world take part in this competition. Last year, more than 4,000 students from over 32 countries participated in this competition.
